Cause: Raising Awareness & Cleanup of plastic in Stoke-On-Trent
The Goals were
- General Awareness: Canoe, Cycle ON the Canals in Stoke-On-Trent with volunteers from Mitten Clarke, Canal & River Trust and the local community; collecting macro plastic items
- We had 60 Litter Heroes and we collected 275.16 kgs or “ONE TRUCKLOAD” in 5 hours using Canoes, the Water Bike, the CRT Work Boat and from the Tow Path
- Connect: Show the local community what is happening on the Canals, let them experience firsthand the impact & scale of plastic pollution and inspire them to take this back to their friends, family, colleagues and trigger action to avoid unnecessary plastic
The Route: CRT Etruria to Middleport and back; CRT Etruria to Renault, Hanley and back
