The Grand Union Canal Project

Cause: Raising Awareness & Cleanup of plastic in the Grand Union Canal

The Goals are

• General Awareness: Cycle on the Regents Canal collecting macro plastic items ( Bottles, Single Use Plastic Packets, Cups etc.)
• Citizen Science: Sample water (3x samples + 1 blank for contamination) and analyse water for microfibers, and trace them to Washing Machines + Fashion Fabric. Very few citizens are aware of this and I want to find and share this with Londoners
• Citizen Science: Take geotagged pictures of the litter and plot them in a GIS map of the canals.
• Community Engagement: Engaging with the Camden Council and working with other Councils and MPs en route.

The Route: Paddington Basin, Little Venice and onward on the Grand Union Canal
