Cause: Raising Awareness & Cleanup of plastic in the Midlands waterways
This project is now complete. More scheduled for Midlands in June. Thanks a lot for Bashir, Nick, Stephen from Canal & River Trust and The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country for making the happen. Next: Coming up in Coventry and Stoke-on-Trent

The Goals were
- General Awareness: Cycle on the Regents Canal collecting macro plastic items ( Bottles, Single Use Plastic Packets, Cups etc.) – Achieved + TBC Story on National Media
- Citizen Science: Sample water (3x samples + 1 blank for contamination) and analyse water for microfibers, and trace them to Washing Machines + Fashion Fabric. Very few citizens are aware of this and I want to find and share this with Londoners – Not Achieved due to funding constraints
- Citizen Science: Take geotagged pictures of the litter and plot them in a GIS map of the canals – Not Achieved due to funding constraints
- Community Engagement: Local Kayakers/ Canoeists/ SUP Boarders to cleanup the waterways and Volunteers to cleanup the Tow Path and talk to general public – Achieved
- Community Engagement: Local Council Leader – Achieved
- Community Engagement: Evening Talk to share findings & Call to Action – Not Achieved due to funding constraints
- Engage with Towpath Users in Central Birmingham – Achieved
